Lucknow, Oct. 30 -- Principal commissioner of income tax, organised a special camp for redressal of taxpayers' grievances at Aayakar Bhawan on Wednesday. Ajay Atri, director-general of income tax (investigation) Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, inaugurated the camp in the presence of the PCIT, Lucknow Meenakshi Singh, Raman Kant Garg, PDIT (investigation) Lucknow and senior officers from the department, along with members of the Chartered Accountants' Association, BAR Association and other tax practitioners. Rohit Shukla, additional commissioner of income tax, central range, Lucknow, Shiv Shankar Yadav, joint director of income tax (Inv.)(Hq) Lko, Purushottam Vakshi, ACIT, Lucknow, Narayan Das, ACIT, Lucknow, Sanjeev Verma and Saume Sameer, ITOs and prominent members of CA and BAR Association, Reena Bhargava, Mradul Agarwal, Mahendra Satya, Samrat, Sumit Tewari, SK Bhargava, Akshay Agarwal and Sidharth Kohli and others attended the camp. During the camp, Atri said that the department accords priority to the tax payer services and the idea of holding special grievance redressal camp was in tune with this key area. "These camps give taxpayers a vital chance to discuss their issues directly with the officers. He urged taxpayers, professionals, and representatives to take full advantage of this opportunity by raising their concerns so that they can be addressed quickly. The department is working to improve transparency, efficiency, and taxpayer services, aligning with the government of India's vision of a prudent and more responsive tax system," said Atri. Speaking on the occasion, Meenakshi Singh, mentioned that the Central Charge Lucknow has a CPGRAM disposal rate of more than 80%, E-niwaran grievances disposal rate is 82% approx. The camp marked an important step towards better taxpayers services, transparency, and accountability within the department.
