Bus from Jaipur to WB gutted on Purvanchal E-way; all 50 passengers safe
VARANASI, April 17 -- A major tragedy was narrowly averted on the Purvanchal Expressway on Thursday afternoon when a passenger bus, traveling from Jaipur to West Bengal, suddenly caught fire near Milestone 188.6, in the vicinity of Sahela village under Pavai police station area of Azamgarh. The bus was rapidly engulfed in flames.
According to locals, smoke began billowing from the bus as it approached Sahela village. Passengers immediately alerted the driver, who pulled the bus to the side of the road and swiftly evacuated everyone.
Minutes after the passengers got off, the fire flared up intensely, consuming the entire bus and reducing it to ashes.
The fire department arrived at the site and brought the blaze under control....
