Bus driver murder case: Another accused held
PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 7 -- A joint team of police and Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested Noorain, a named accused in the murder of roadways contractual driver Ravindra Kumar, in Beli village under Puramufti police station area on Wednesday night.
Noorain, a resident of Rasulpur who was hiding at a relative's house, jumped off the roof on seeing the police team. However, SOG head constable Vinod Dubey also jumped to nab him. Both were injured in the act and hospitalised.
Kumar was killed after a group of men pelted him with bricks and stones following an argument at a petrol pump in the Mundera locality of Dhoomanganj here on October 21. The Dhoomanganj police had registered an FIR against seven named and four unidentified accused. A reward of Rs 50,000 each was announced on the absconding accused.
Meanwhile, police commissioner Jogendra Kumar and additional police commissioner Ajay Pal Sharma inquired about the well-being of the injured constable. A reward of Rs 50,000 was handed over to the injured constable.
The police commissioner also said that head constable Vinod Dubey's name would be forwarded for the Director General of Police Commendation Award and the Chief Minister's Bravery Award. He also hinted at filing gangster and attachment proceedings against the nabbed accused Noorain besides filing an FIR against his relatives for giving him shelter.
The police have already sent five named accused Ali, Kamran, Irfan Ahmed, Mohammad Hussain, and Faisal alias Kale to jail....
