Bulker truck crashes into 3 houses
PRAYAGRAJ, June 13 -- A bulker truck loaded with cement crashed into three houses and a medical store near Yadav Market in Sirathu, Kaushambi within Saini police station limits at around 4am on Thursday, police said.
The truck driver who was injured in the mishap was rushed to the Sirathu community health centre. However, he reportedly escaped from there. The medical store, three houses and a car parked in the area were damaged, while no loss of life was reported, police said.
SHO of Saini Kotwali Santosh Sharma said the truck had been seized and a manhunt launched for the truck driver.
Owners of the three houses submitted a complaint to the Sirathu SDM and Saini Kotwali, reporting losses to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
Reports said the speeding bulker truck belonging to a cement company was heading for Saini via Satna on Dhata Road when it went out of control near Yadav Market. The truck crashed into the houses of Alok Kumar Kesarwani, Manik Chandrivdra and Anant Prakash Soni, and the medical store of Gyan Prakash. Sirathu SDM Yogesh Kumar Gaur also visited the spot for inspection.
A car returning from a wedding overturned in a roadside ditch near Tendua village in the Meja area of Prayagraj late on Wednesday night. The accident resulted in the death of two people, including the groom's brother, while two others sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment in a private hospital.
According to reports, a group of people from Jevaniya village in Meja had gone to attend a wedding celebration from the groom's side in Koraon on Wednesday night. After the wedding procession arrived, the group who had arrived to attend the wedding got into a quarrel with some people from the bride's side, resulting in injury to one person.
Following this, the injured was taken to the hospital in the car of the groom's brother and then the car suddenly went out of control and overturned in a roadside ditch. Hearing the loud sound of the accident, nearby village residents pulled out the people trapped in the car.
The groom's brother, Gopal Vishwakarma, a resident of Jevaniya, and his friend Kaushalesh, a resident of Kanigada, died in the accident. Two others, including Anjani Vishwakarma and Arpit, were injured and rushed to the hospital.
An MA first year student of CMP Degree College here died while another was seriously injured when two other students travelling in a car allegedly hit them after a confrontation over an old dispute near Leprosy Mission Hospital crossing on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Priyankar Dwivedi, they said. The seriously injured student Aditya has been taken to BHU hospital in Varanasi.
Station house officer, Naini police station, Prayagraj, Brij Kishore Gautam said on the complaint of the deceased's father Sanjay Dwivedi, a case had been registered against accused Navyansh, Pratik and an unknown person under sections 281, 125A, 125B and 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
As per reports, Priyankar, a resident of Parsara (Basanti) under Bara police station area, used to stay in a rented room in Allahpur. He went to have tea near United Engineer College late on Wednesday night along with his friends Prashant Mishra, Raj and Aditya on two bikes.
It is alleged that at the tea stall, they had a confrontation with two other students Navyansh Pandey and Pratik Pandey over an old sale/purchase of a laptop. Later, Priyankar and his friends left for Allahpur. However, Navyansh and Pratik, who were in a car, stopped them near ADA crossing and allegedly thrashed them.
Later, they also chased and tried to hit their bike. This resulted in Priyankar and Aditya's bike crashing into a tree on the roadside. Seeing this, Navyansh and Pratik fled the scene. Priyankar's friends Prashant and Raj informed the police about the incident....
