Braj marks Run for Unity with gusto
Agra, Nov. 1 -- The 'Run for Unity' programme organised here to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, brought the Braj region to life in the early hours of Friday. Elaborate events were organised at all eight districts of the region.
In Agra, minister for higher education Yogendra Upadhayay flagged off the 'Run For Unity' after paying tributes to the 'Iron Man of India'. The event was organised at Eklavya Stadium.
In Mathura, SSP Shlok Kumar offered floral tributes at the statue of Patel and led the oath-taking ceremony on National Unity Day. In Firozabad, DIG Agra Range Shailesh Kumar Pandey and SSP Saurabh Dixit led the proceedings. Mainpuri SP Ganesh Prasad Saha flagged off Run for Unity that began from Reserve Police Lines there.
Hathras SP Chirnjeev Nath Sinha highlighted the contributions made by Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle. Similar events were held in Etah, Kasganj and Aligarh....
