LUCKNOW, March 1 -- Avinash Pandey, All India Congress committee national general secretary and the party's UP in-charge, said on Saturday that the Brahmin community has always made sacrifices for the country, claiming that despite this the community is helpless and a victim of oppression today. Pandey was addressing a Prabuddh Samagam event organised by the All India Brahmin Mahasabha (R) at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. Speaking on the occasion, UP Congress chief Ajay Rai claimed: "Today, the Brahmin community is being used solely for political gains. To counter this, the enlightened community needs to come forward and work together. In the context of Uttar Pradesh, it is true that only those who respect Brahmins will rule here."...
