Book vs book: Oppn uproar in LS after BJP MP targets Gandhi family
New Delhi, Feb. 5 -- BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey bought five books - all critical of the Nehru-Gandhi family - during the debate on President's speech in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, further infuriating the Congress amid the ongoing logjam over former army chief Manoj Naravane's unpublished memoir.
Dubey argued that while the debate is over an unpublished book, he has brought published books to expose the Nehru-Gandhi family. The BJP MP showed Catherine Clement's book Edwina and Nehru and said he wants to show how India was partitioned and what was Nehru doing during that period.
Dubey also showed MO Mathai's book on Nehru. "He was Nehru's PA. He claimed that he had a personal equation with Indira Gandhi. He was removed over allegations of corruption." The BJP MP produced a book, the Red Saree, one book on Indira Gandhi and another written by General Thorat.
While Presiding officer Krishna Prasad Tenetti asked Dubey to stop, saying he can't allow this, Dubey went ahead before the House was adjourned....
