Book by lawyers on ayodhya title suit released
New Delhi, Nov. 8 -- The Ayodhya title suit verdict was an instance of judicial statesmanship where the five-judge bench refused to be instigated by the Hindu or Muslim side and decided the matter purely as a property dispute, said solicitor general Tushar Mehta on Friday.
Mehta, who represented the Uttar Pradesh government in the case, said that the handling of the case that created history was "amazingly intellectual". He was speaking at the book launch of Case for Ram - The Untold Insiders' Story brought out by two lawyers who appeared for the deity Lord Ram in the case -- Sridhar Potaraju and Anirudh Sharma, who with a battery of lawyers briefed senior advocate K Parasaran, the lead counsel for the Hindu side. "The way the court handled the entire case was amazingly intellectual," he said. "For one side, it was a case of Hindus and for the other side,it was a case for Muslims.
In this temple versus mosque, the court treated the matter as a property dispute."...
