PRAYAGRAJ, May 10 -- The body of Olympian athlete Savita Pal reached her home in Neebi village of Jhunsi area of Prayagraj on Friday morning. Pal was injured in a road accident in Haryana and died during treatment there. Her body was buried at Ganga Ghat in the village here on Friday, in accordance with the village tradition. In Neebi village, unmarried young men and women are buried and not cremated. During the burial, a large number of local people along with sportspersons, social workers and public representatives were present. Savita Pal, 22, represented the railways in national competitions and had gone to Rohtak for training where she was injured in a road accident on May 3. Savita's uncle, Rajendra Kumar Pal, who is an athletic coach in Orai, said that in 2018, Savita won a gold medal in the 3 km race in the International South Asia Trophy and the Open National Champion Trophy....
