PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 7 -- The body of a newly married woman was found hanging from a noose under suspicious circumstances on Thursday morning in a village under Sandipan Ghat police station area of Kaushambi. Family members who went to wake her up on Thursday morning were shocked to see the body hanging from the noose. On receiving information, parents of the woman arrived at the scene and filed a complaint with the police, alleging dowry harassment. Police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem. As per reports, the woman was married to a resident of the same village on February 16. Her parents alleged that right after the marriage, her in-laws began demanding a bike and a buffalo, along with Rs 1 lakh in cash. When she protested, they began harassing her. She informed her parents about the situation several times.
