LUCKNOW, Jan. 24 -- The body of a 22-year-old labourer was found under suspicious circumstances along the Indira Canal in the Nagaram area of the state capital on Thursday morning, prompting police to launch a murder investigation. An FIR has now been registered in the case, and several named suspects are being questioned. According to Rallapalli Vasanth Kumar, additional deputy commissioner of police (South), an initial examination of the body revealed injury marks on the head, suggesting that the victim may have been assaulted with a brick or stone. Investigators also suspect that the deceased had been consuming alcohol near the canal along with others before the incident. The deceased Om Prakash ,22, of Gulalkheda village, left home around 8 pm on January 22, said his family.
