PRAYAGRAJ, June 28 -- Police on Friday morning found the remains of a person on the Prayagraj-Kanpur National Highway near Vijaypur in Saini. As several vehicles had crushed it for nearly two hours before it was found, the body had become unrecognisable to the extent that police could not even identify the gender, officials confirmed. In such a situation, the police were now preparing for a DNA test to identify the deceased. Station house officer Santosh Kumar Sharma, who had gone to the spot, said the person could have died in an early morning accident since no accidents were reported the previous night. The body was spotted by locals in the morning. According to Sharma, the body was crushed by vehicles for about two hours, due to which its identification was difficult. A blue cloth recovered from the site was insufficient to identify if it was the body of a man or a woman. "A DNA test will be conducted to identify the deceased. CCTV cameras are also being scanned," he added. htc...
