BNA receives 350 applications from 23 states for theatre programme
LUCKNOW, May 24 -- Bhartendu Natya Academy (BNA) has received over 350 applications from 23 states across the country for its Master's in Performing Arts (MPA) Theatre programme, which offers 20 seats. Last year, applications came from 14 states, director Bipin Kumar said.

Sixty of them will be shortlisted for a workshop during which Bollywood actors and experts from various state universities will select 20 candidates. Out of the 20 seats available at the institute, 10 are reserved for candidates from Uttar Pradesh, while those from as many states as possible are selected for the remaining seats," Kumar explained.
"BNA is among the very few institutes offering a post-graduate degree in theatre, a programme not even available at premier institutions like the National School of Drama," he added.
Kumar also underlined that the institute will provide fellowship to students who promote theatre in their home towns and surrounding areas. "The one whose project is found to be the best will be awarded a fellowship of Rs 20,000," he added....
