Blue or black: Edu dept prescribes ink colour to Meerut school admns
LUCKNOW, Jan. 10 -- It's going to be only blue or black ink pens for signatures and routine official work. The joint director, education, Meerut, has issued a missive to the district inspector of schools (DIOS), Meerut, directing all secondary school principals in the district prescribing the colour of ink to be used for signatures and routine official work.
The missive has been issued in connection with a complaint registered on the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) bearing number 40014025041463, which was filed on August 19, 2025, by Jai Singh of Modinagar, Ghaziabad. The matter was examined following earlier correspondence between the joint director's office and the DIOS.
According to the inquiry report submitted by the DIOS, a spot inspection was conducted on September 10, 2025. The complainant was contacted through phone and written communication, and was asked to cooperate in the inquiry by producing evidence and appearing at the designated place. However, the complainant reportedly declined to submit evidence or participate further in the inquiry.
The inquiry officer also recorded written statements from principals of several institutions, including DN Inter College, SSD Inter College (Sadar), SSD Boys Inter College (Lalkurti), and BAV Inter College, Meerut. In their statements, the principals categorically denied the use of green ink. Based on the findings, the inquiry concluded that the complaint was unsupported by evidence and baseless, and recommended that it be disposed of accordingly....
