PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 1 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya MP Sanjay Singh on Sunday alleged that booth level officers (BLOs) were committing suicide as they were stress due to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. He also demanded Rs 1 crore ex gratia each for the families of those BLOs who had allegedly died by suicide. Talking to reporters after attending a condolence meeting which his party had held for the deceased BLOs, Singh alleged that 180 Anganwadi workers in the state were dismissed for not performing their duties as BLOs. The AAP leader further alleged that around 8 million (80 lakh) votes were deleted during the SIR process in Bihar. Regarding the extension of the SIR timeline, he said it was a gimmick.
