PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 3 -- Deaths of two minor siblings around three days back in Lachhipur Devarpatti village under Baghrai police station area of Pratapgarh from encephalitis has put the administration on alert here. Officials of the health as well as the revenue departments reached the village on Sunday and sprayed disinfectant and collected blood samples of 70 villagers to check for any cases of dengue and malaria. The Lekhpal of Revenue department conducted an investigation into the deaths and sent the report to the government for financial assistance. As per reports, Virendra Saroj, a resident of Lachhipur Devarpatti village under Baghrai police station area, lost his four-year-old daughter Tanvi and two-year-old son Atiq Saroj who had been suffering from encephalitis for several days. When their condition worsened, the family brought the children to a private hospital in Kunda for treatment. Tanvi died on Thursday evening after which the family took Atiq to a private hospital in Prayagraj for treatment. However, two-year-old Atiq also passed away on Friday night. The health department sprayed insecticide and disinfectant in the village on Saturday while on Sunday, a team consisting of Baghrai CHC collected blood samples from 70 villagers, including the affected family, for testing dengue and malaria. According to the superintendent of CHC Baghrai Dr Dinesh Singh, after the deaths of two children from fever in Lachhipur, medicine was sprayed in village. Blood samples of 70 people were taken for testing for dengue and malaria but none of the samples were found positive so far....
