BKT hospital performs firsthip surgery
LUCKNOW, June 21 -- The Ram Sagar Mishra (RSM) Joint Hospital at Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) has conducted its first hip replacement surgery, confirmed officials on Friday.
Kallu Pandey, 67, who hails from Barabanki, suffered a hip injury and was brought to the hospital.
Dr Ashok Kumar, the head of the orthopedics department, examined the patient and advised a bipolar hip replacement surgery after confirming a fracture in the right hip through radiology tests, stated Dr VK Sharma, the chief medical superintendent (CMS) of the hospital.
In the past month, the hospital saw a 34% increase in OPD patients and a 22% increase in pathology tests, he added.
The hospital aims to further increase these numbers to provide better treatment to patients from distant areas, he said....
