BJP will suffer 'historic' defeatin West Bengal polls: Akhilesh
LUCKNOW, April 24 -- Predicting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will face a 'historic defeat' in the ongoing assembly polls in West Bengal, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday claimed that Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress will form the government there once again with a massive majority.
Speaking to the media after attending an event in Etawah, he said: while his party advocated for a caste census, the BJP was unwilling to get it conducted. "A caste census would ensure that the exploited and the deprived receive their rightful entitlements and dignity," Yadav added. "The BJP government is failing to implement the reservation provisions enshrined in the Constitution and it is anti-PDA (Pichde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak)," he alleged.
The Kannauj MP participated in the 108-Kundiya Mahayagya and Bhagwat Katha organised at Shri Ramkrishna Param Dham in Chakarnagar, Etawah.
"Incidents of rape, murder and sexual assault against women are on the rise. The BJP government has done nothing to safeguard the health, education or dignity of women," he alleged....
