Haridwar, Nov. 21 -- Former state chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat on Thursday said that the tenure of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar would be short-lived and the BJP would soon replace him with a leader from their ranks, even as Kumar is due to take oath as CM for the tenth time in his political career. Speaking to reporters at a sit-in protest in Haridwar's Bhagwanpur, organised for the demand for land allocation for landless families belonging to Scheduled Castes settled in the area for decades, Rawat alleged that the BJP "has a hidden agenda". "They first use coalition partners to gain ground in state politics and then sidelines them to take full control of the government. They attempted to break our legislators in 2016 during my tenure as chief minister. Nitish Kumar will soon see the BJP's real face. He will be removed from the chief minister's post," he said. Commenting on the recent appointment of Ganesh Godiyal as state Congress committee president, Rawat praised Godiyal's approach to the role and said the decision infused "new confidence and enthusiasm" in the party.
