LUCKNOW, July 6 -- Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Saturday presented in-depth, factual insights on the current environmental crisis, global challenges and potential solutions at a seminar organised at the National PG College. The Lok Adhikar Manch had organised the seminar on 'How Political Will Can Influence Global Environmental Decisions'. Speaking on the occasion, Singh said: "The topic we are discussing today is not just about the present, but deeply concerns the future of our planet and the generations yet to come." Expressing concern for Lucknow, the Sarojini Nagar MLA said the city experiences hazardous air quality levels for over 300 days a year, with AQI reaching up to 250. Globally, air pollution causes over 2.5 million premature deaths each year. "In Uttar Pradesh, over 200 crore trees have been planted under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath," he said. "Planting trees is not enough. We must protect them and conserve forests," Singh added. He said Lucknow is emerging as a model of balanced growth, with projects like BrahMos missile production, expressway construction, and the arrival of top global IT companies like IBM, Genpact, and HCL. He stressed the importance of turning environmental protection into a mass movement. He asserted that over 150 Tarashakti Kendras have been established in Sarojini Nagar for women empowerment, where over 30,000 eco-friendly bags have been produced and distributed among school children....
