BJP launches 90-day Atmanirbhar Bharat, Har Ghar Swadeshi drive
LUCKNOW, Sept. 30 -- Uttar Pradesh BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for Aatmanirbhar Bharat was not merely a policy but the faith and resolve of 140 crore Indians. Addressing a press conference at the party's state headquarters here, he announced a 90-day nationwide campaign, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Har Ghar Swadeshi, running from September 25 (Deendayal Upadhyaya Jayanti) to December 25 (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Jayanti).
Chaudhary said the campaign aimed to strengthen the roadmap for making India a developed nation by 2047, with 'swadeshi' at its core. "PM Modi has urged citizens to buy only India-made products and ensure that every shop proudly displays the board - 'Gaurav se kaho, yeh swadeshi hai,'" he said.
He, however, clarified that it was not the call for boycott of foreign goods. "Goods made by foreign companies in India will be treated as Swadeshi only," he said.
Highlighting achievements under the 'Vocal for Local' push, he cited the jump in khadi sales from Rs 31,000 crore during UPA to Rs 1.7 lakh crore now, mobile manufacturing units rising from 2 to 300, and exports climbing from Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2 lakh crore. The campaign will include over 1,000 swadeshi fairs, 500 sankalp raths and padyatras, village-level outreach, youth and women conferences, and college programmes to promote self-reliance.
"Aatmanirbhar Bharat is now a people's movement that strengthens India's economy, boosts employment and makes the country a trusted global partner," Chaudhary said.htc...
