BJP govt committed to promote science, tech innovation: Dhami
Dehradun, July 1 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday said that the state government is committed to promoting science and technological innovation.
"The space technology is no longer limited to research alone but plays a significant role in communication, agriculture, weather forecasting, disaster management, education, health, and infrastructure development. Out government is committed to promoting science and technological innovation," Dhami said at a conference on space technology organised at his official residence in Dehradun.
The event focused on the role of Himalayan states in building a developed India by 2047, according to officials.
Dhami said the conference will be a milestone in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of developed India by 2047.
"It is a proud moment for the country that Indian scientist Shubhanshu Shukla hoisted the national flag at the International Space Station. Shukla's contribution will lay a solid foundation for future space missions including Gaganyaan," he said.
Dhami inaugurated a dashboard developed by ISRO and UCOST to make Champawat a model district, and also unveiled a publication by ISRO.
"...significant progress is being made in establishing a science city, innovation centers, and cutting-edge laboratories in areas such as AI, robotics, and drones in the state," said the chief minister."
