Agra, July 21 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) further cemented its control over Agra Nagar Nigam by securing five out of six seats in the local body's Executive. The remaining seat went to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), the sole representative from the opposition. Out of 100 corporators in the house, BJP had won 66 in the last municipal polls. Despite expectations of two Executive seats for the opposition, lack of unity saw only BSP's Mohd Asif elected. BJP members Rakesh Jain, Phool Kumari, Priyanka Agarwal, Virendra Lodhi and Vikrant Kushwaha joined the Executive. BJP's Sharad Chauhan withdrew his nomination to maintain consensus. All elected members were felicitated by BJP mayor Hemlata Diwakar. BSP had fielded three candidates but secured just one seat....
