Lucknow, Dec. 22 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership on Sunday directed party MLAs to adopt an aggressive posture in the Assembly and give a strong reply to allegations levelled by opposition parties against the state government. A meeting of the BJP legislature party was held at the Lok Bhawan auditorium, attended by chief minister Yogi Adityanath, state unit president Pankaj Chaudhary, deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP state organisation secretary Dharampal Singh, ministers, MLAs and MLCs. The meeting focused on formulating a strategy to counter the opposition, particularly the Samajwadi Party, which has announced plans to raise the issue of alleged codeine-based cough syrup smuggling in and outside the House. Party leaders asked legislators to firmly rebut the SP's allegations. Members were also informed that the House would hold a special discussion to mark the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
