PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 20 -- A Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Corner and a BIS Student Chapter were inaugurated at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad on Tuesday, under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between BIS and the institute. The BIS Corner, established in the Central Library, will serve as a key resource center, offering students and faculty access to study and reference materials related to standards and quality. The Corner was inaugurated by BIS director general Pramod Kumar Tiwari, who appreciated the initiative during a review of the library. He lauded the efforts of BIS nodal officer at MNNIT, Prof Ravi Prakash Tiwari, and expressed his gratitude to director Prof RS Verma for fostering a culture of quality awareness on campus. In his address, Tiwari highlighted the critical role of standards in enhancing research, innovation, and quality practices. Prof Verma added that the initiative would significantly contribute to strengthening the national quality ecosystem by enabling collaborative research, internships and greater student involvement. The collaboration is expected to inspire students to pursue quality-focused research and innovation.
