PRAYAGRAJ, July 21 -- A biker was said to be critically injured after he was dragged by a car for some distance following a collision, in Civil Lines here on Sunday afternoon, police said. The biker was identified as Shashank Tiwari, 32, who hails from Madhya Pradesh and works here. He was rushed to a private hospital soon after the hit-and-run, and later referred to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. Eyewitnesses said the car driver appeared to be in an inebriated state and sped away towards Ashok Nagar following the collision. Also, car did not have a number plate, police said. Shashank's father Rama Shankar Tiwari said Shashank was going for company meeting when speeding car struck him. Civil Lines station house officer Ram Aashray Yadav said action would be taken against the car driver as soon as a complaint was received from the victim's family.
