BHU research scholar Abhay Pratap Singh appointed ABVP nat'l secy
Lucknow, Dec. 3 -- Abhay Pratap Singh from Kashi Prant and research scholar in the Department of Political Science at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has been appointed as national secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
A native of Gorakhpur district in Uttar Pradesh, Abhay Pratap Singh is currently pursuing research on India-US relations.
Prior to this appointment, he has served ABVP in several key roles including central working committee member, state secretary, national executive member, BHU Unit president, and Prant Working Committee Member.
He has also actively led major student movements such as the BHU fee hike protest and the Reopen BHU campaign, along with several university-level initiatives and student-centric programs.
The 3-day national conference of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the world's largest student organisation working with the resolve of national reconstruction, concluded in Uttarakhand's capital Dehradun.
The conference was organised from November 28 to 30 and saw participation from delegates across all Indian states as well as Nepal.
The presence of more than 1,200 representatives made this conference especially notable.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr S Somanath, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
