BHU convocation to be held on Dec 12
VARANASI, Sept. 14 -- The 105th Convocation of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will be held on December 12. Students who completed their graduation, post-graduation, or PhD in 2024-25 will receive degrees and medals. The main event at Swatantrata Bhawan will honour university-level medal winners. Afterwards, degree distribution will take place in different institutes and faculties across the campus. The university has set up 11 sub-committees to ensure smooth organisation of the event.
BHU continues to reaffirm its commitment to environmental sustainability and biodiversity with a major plantation drive organised by its horticulturist unit on Friday.
Speaking at the event, vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi highlighted the university's distinction not only for its academic excellence but also for its rich greenery and biodiversity. He praised the efforts of the Horticulturist Unit in preserving and enhancing the campus's green cover through large-scale plantation initiatives and awareness activities.
As part of the event, around 300 saplings of native tree species - including Sheesam, Sagwan and Katsagwan-were planted on the campus....
