BHU bars 112 students from future admissions over misconduct
VARANASI, July 7 -- The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has released a list of 112 students who have been expelled, suspended, or debarred, instructing officials not to grant them admission in any course for the 2025-26 academic session.
A circular issued by deputy registrar (Academic) Ranjit Sandilya has been sent to all directors, deans, heads of teaching departments, principals, and coordinators across BHU.
"Please find enclosed herewith the list of expelled/debarred/suspended students by the University to bring it to the knowledge of the Admission Committee for not considering their admissions in any of the courses of the University during the academic session 2025-26," the circular stated.
According to officials, nearly 80 of these students were allegedly involved in acts of vandalism, ruckus, and assault on campus. Others were accused of disrupting the academic environment and damaging university property. At least three to four students on the list are reportedly facing charges in serious criminal cases....
