Bharthapur village relocation: Funds transferred to 10 beneficiaries
Bahraich, Nov. 22 -- The district administration has initiated the implementation of chief minister Yogi Adityanath's announcement to relocate Bharthapur village, situated in the core tiger habitat of the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary.
Villagers of Bharthapur village would be relocated to Semrahna Gram Sabha under Mihinpurwa (Motipur) Tehsil of Bahraich.
The district administration has also earmarked a land to develop a colony for the residents of Bharthapur at Semrahna village.
District magistrate Akshay Tripathi confirmed on Friday that a total amount of Rs.36,46,027 has been transferred to the bank accounts of 10 beneficiaries who signed MoUs with the forest department for compensation towards land value and assets.
With the fund disbursal, the administration has formally begun the process of rehabilitating families from the highly inaccessible village located between the Gerua and Kaudiyala rivers.
For the villagers who have lived for generations under constant threat from wildlife and without essential amenities, the dream of a safer, more dignified life is finally moving toward reality....
