Imphal, Nov. 20 -- Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will visit strife-torn Manipur for a three-day visit beginning on Thursday, office bearers of the organisation sad on Wednesday. A member of the RSS's state media cell said that Bhagwat will arrive in Imphal on Thursday morning, adding that the visit is part of the organisation's centenary celebrations. "Mohan Bhagwat's visit will be focused on character-building activities of the RSS 'pracharaks' in the state," he said. The state media cell said that Bhagwat will interact with leaders of student bodies, tribal and social leaders, among others, at the Sangh's office in Imphal. When asked about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief JP Nadda's potential visit to the site on November 21, the person cited above said, "Yes, we have heard of JP Nadda's visit to Manipur, but our schedule strictly adheres to the Sangh's activities and doesn't have anything to do with the BJP." This will be the first time Bhagwat is visiting Manipur since violence broke out in the northeastern state in 2023.
