Beautician goes missing, family alleges abduction
LUCKNOW, Jan. 28 -- A 23-year-old beautician who left for work on January 25 never reached her workplace and has been untraceable since, with her family now alleging she was abducted by a man who had allegedly been harassing and extorting money from her for months.
The missing woman, Vinita, a resident of Deendayal Puram in Takrohi, worked at a beauty parlour near Munshi Pulia. An FIR under sections 87 (kidnapping) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS was registered at Indira Nagar police station on the complaint of her father, Lal Bihari Puri, on January 26.
In his complaint, Puri stated that Vinita left home around 11 am on January 25, saying she was heading to work. "When she did not return home till 8 pm, we became worried and repeatedly tried calling her, but her phone was unreachable," he said. The family then contacted the beauty parlour owner, who informed them that Vinita had not reported for duty that day. Her mobile phone was later found switched off.
The father alleged that a youth identified as Salim had been frequently harassing Vinita on her way to work, assaulting her and extorting money from her. The family suspects that Vinita may have been abducted by the accused....
