BDA issues notices in enclave linked to aide of Bareilly violence accused
MEErUT, Nov. 27 -- The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) has stepped up action on Faiq Enclave, a housing project linked to coloniser Mohammad Arif, allegedly a close aide of Maulana Tauqeer Raza, the main accused in the 26 September violence. 25 residents have received notices for allegedly constructing houses without approved maps. They have been given a week to explain the absence of sanctioned layout plans, with officials cautioning that action will follow if responses are missing or unsatisfactory.
Confirming the development, BDA vice chairman Manikandan A said the survey of houses lacking sanctioned maps has been completed, following which the first set of notices was issued to 25 residents. He stated that action will follow if satisfactory explanations are not given. He also referred to an earlier FIR against the operator of Mannat Lawn for allegedly breaking official seals, adding that further legal steps are underway.

District magistrate Avinash Singh said the administration will not permit even a needle-tip-sized encroachment on government land. He stated that illegally built structures are being identified and vacated. Irregularities detected during the inquiry are being added to the existing FIR.
In a related action, Mannat Lawn, a wedding venue nearby, also faces punitive action. After being sealed due to alleged irregularities, the operator allegedly broke the seal and resumed events, videos of which later surfaced. The BDA resealed the venue and lodged an FIR, and officials say final action is being readied....
