BBAU launches major infrastructure upgrade
LUCKNOW, Dec. 12 -- Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) is planning major infrastructure upgrade on its campus. Vice-chancellor Prof Raj Kumar Mittal said that some construction has already begun, including a new teaching block next to the management department.
"The new teaching block will provide improved facilities for conducting classes. We will also be able to shift the classes currently being held in the Library block, giving the Library more space for students," said Mittal.
He also informed that the university has floated tenders for setting up computer labs at the Amethi campus and the main campus, with 50 and 130 computers respectively.
He further stated that the university is awaiting funds from the Higher Education Funding Agency for the construction of two additional teaching blocks and to address issues with hostel infrastructure.
"We have applied to various schemes under the Ministry of Social Justice to address the shortage of hostel capacity. We plan to increase it from the current 1,800 to over 3,000. If all goes according to plan, construction of these facilities will begin within the next six months," said Mittal....
