MEERUT, Aug. 27 -- Bareilly police on Tuesday uncovered a religious conversion racket operating under the guise of a madrasa in the Bhuta area. Police said the madrasa functioned like a 'conversion factory,' where individuals were allegedly brainwashed, converted to Islam. Four suspects have been arrested and six cases of conversion, including that of a minor, have emerged. The case came to light after Akhilesh Kumari, an Aligarh resident filed an FIR claiming her son had been forcibly converted. Her son, who has weak eyesight since birth, holds an MPhil from AMU and a PhD from Hyderabad Central University and was working as a teacher in a Government Inter College before being transferred to Bareilly. SP South Anshika Verma said, "Conversions and circumcisions were being carried out in the madrasa. The case has links to foreign funding, which is under probe."htc...
