Bareilly man murdered over love affair, three held
MEERUT, Oct. 18 -- A 22-year-old man was brutally murdered over an alleged inter-caste love affair in Bareilly late Wednesday night. The victim, identified as Abhishek Yadav, was chased for nearly 100 meters and stabbed eight times in full public view, said police on Friday.
According to police, the deceased Abhishek Yadav, a resident of Rajau Parsapur village under Bithri Chainpur police station, was in a relationship with a girl from another caste. Her family had strongly opposed the relationship, leading to long-standing enmity between the two families.

SP (North) Mukesh Chandra Mishra stated that the deceased brother-in-law, Akash, informed that on Wednesday night, Abhishek was attending a Ramleela event when three local youths confronted Abhishek and started beating him. When he tried to flee, the accused chased him for about 100 meters and attacked him with knives.
"He was repeatedly stabbed - around eight times in his chest and abdomen," Aakash said, adding, "He died on the spot."
The victim's family revealed that Abhishek's relationship with the girl had created tension for nearly two years. In November 2023, her family lodged a molestation case against him, leading to his arrest. He spent several months in jail before being released, after which the two reportedly lost contact - but enmity between their families continued. Police said the main accused, Satish, is the girl's father and has a criminal history. He had earlier been jailed for allegedly killing his first wife and was out on bail....
