Meerut, July 17 -- In Bareilly district, a doctor from a private hospital, under the jurisdiction of the Izzatnagar police station area, has been arrested for allegedly molesting a teenage girl admitted to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The accused, identified as Naim Ali, a resident of Jogi Nawada under Baradari police station, was apprehended from the Delha Peer area and subsequently sent to judicial custody, police said. The incident occurred on July 11, when the 17-year-old victim, undergoing treatment at Universe Hospital, alleged that Dr Naim Ali, who was on duty in the ICU, molested her and committed obscene acts. Following the complaint lodged by the victim's brother, the Izzatnagar police registered a case against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. During interrogation, Naim Ali confessed to committing inappropriate acts with the teenage patient, who was alone in the ICU, and described his actions as a mistake. DSP Pankaj Srivastava said, "Strict action is being taken in cases involving women-related offences. The victim's brother filed a complaint regarding the molestation in the ICU at Universe Hospital, and we registered a case immediately."...
