LUCKNOW, June 20 -- A new vehicle scrapping facility with the capacity to dismantle 15,000 end-of-life vehicles annually has been launched in Barabanki under the National Vehicle Scrappage Policy. Operated by Moto Scrapland Pvt Ltd, the registered vehicle scrapping facility (RVSF) was virtually inaugurated on Wednesday by Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari. The Barabanki unit is equipped to dismantle two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and all categories of passenger and commercial vehicles. It is one of two new centres launched, the other being in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with a higher capacity of 25,000 vehicles per year, a press release stated. "The initiative will also support citizens in upgrading to cleaner and more fuel-efficient vehicles through structured incentives," Gadkari said.
