Barabanki accident toll rises to eight
LUCKNOW, Nov. 5 -- Two, including a minor, who sustained major injuries in a collision between a car and a truck in Barabanki, died on Tuesday morning, officials said. The accident, which took place at the Kalyani bridge on Monday, had claimed six lives earlier.
Those who died on Monday were identified as jeweller Pradeep Rastogi (60), his wife Madhuri (55), their two sons Nitin (35) and Naimish alias Krishna (15), driver Shrikant Shukla (50), and one Balaji Mishra (55). Rastogi owned a jewellery shop called 'Gauri Jewellers' in Munshiganj, Fatehpur. The accident left his family with no survivors.
Indra Kumar (50) and Vishnu (15) succumbed to injuries in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Chief medical officer (CMO) Barabanki Avdhesh Kumar Yadav told the media that the incident occurred late at night after a collision between a car and a truck on the Deva-Fathepur road. He said six people who were travelling in the car died on the spot and two others were referred to a hospital in Lucknow....
