Banned nylon manjha strikes again in Lko, cab driver injured
LUCKNOW, Feb. 15 -- A 29-year-old cab driver sustained a serious throat injury after a banned nylon manjha allegedly slit his neck while he was riding a motorcycle with his wife and young daughter in the Hussainganj area on Saturday, marking the eleventh such incident reported in the city within eleven days.
Mohammad Musharraf, a resident near Sher Wali Kothi under Hussainganj police station limits, was travelling from Hussainganj to Lal Kuan with his family when the incident took place on a flyover. His wife also suffered injuries in the fall, while their minor daughter escaped unhurt.
According to eyewitnesses, as Musharraf's motorcycle reached the flyover, a strand of the sharp nylon manjha allegedly appeared in front of them and got entangled around his neck. Before he could react, the string slit his throat. In panic and pain, he applied sudden brakes, causing the motorcycle to skid and all three fell on the flyover.Passersby rushed to their aid and shifted Musharraf and his wife to a nearby hospital. Doctors said Musharraf sustained serious injuries to his neck but his condition is stable after primary treatment.Recounting the incident, Musharraf said he was fortunate not to have fallen off the flyover or been hit by a vehicle coming from behind, which could have resulted in a major tragedy. The latest case comes a day after a local journalist was injured in the Alambagh area despite wearing a helmet....
