India, Jan. 31 -- Two IndiGo pilots were taken off flying duty after they allegedly took off from Delhi airport for Baku, Azerbaijan's capital, without the requisite clearance from Air Traffic Controllers (ATC), officials aware of the matter said. The pilots of flight 6E 1803 from New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport took off for Baku at 7.38pm before clearance was provided. "The aircraft... was asked to prepare for take off. The pilots, however, took off instead," an official said, declining to be named. "The incident was noted and brought to the knowledge of the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), after which the pilots were de-rostered."
