AYODHYA, Dec. 7 -- As Saturday marked the 33rd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, security forces in Ayodhya and across other areas of Uttar Pradesh were on high alert and carried out thorough checks of vehicles on all routes as the day passed off peacefully. Police checkpoints were set up around the temple town where vehicles were stopped, car boots opened and IDs of passengers verified. Barricades were placed across all routes leading to the Ram temple.
