VARANASI, Nov. 23 -- Two bikes, acquired through ill-gotten gains, were seized in the city area of Azamgarh on Friday, police said. The seizure was made on the orders of the court of the chief judicial magistrate, Azamgarh. Under Section 107 of the BNSS, this one is the first action by police in Azamgarh district, said circle officer, Azamgarh city, Shubham Todi. Todi said that between January 23 and September 22, 2025, accused Ramjeet Yadav made illegal transactions totaling Rs.52,85,000 (Rs 52 lakh 85 thousand). The accused forged the signatures on cheques of the ex-officio government account (Canara Bank) of the senior jail superintendent, district jail, Azamgarh, and transferred the funds to his own accounts. The accused purchased two motorcycles with the earnings made illegally. Bullet Classic motorcycle UP50 DA 5398 and Splendor motorcycle UP50 CW 0799, said the circle officer. He added that both the vehicles were purchased during the same period in which the money was earned illegally.
