PRAYAGRAJ, May 2 -- Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Park is set for a major facelift under the central government's Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. The proposal has received in-principle approval from the government, and the beautification work has been entrusted to the Uttar Pradesh Project Corporation Limited (UPPCL) with an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore. A tender for all the proposed renovation works will be issued soon. UPPCL managing director SK Singh informed that, along with Prayagraj, special development work will also be carried out in Mahoba. Earlier, Sitapur was included in the Swadesh Darshan scheme, but that plan has been temporarily put on hold. According to Singh, the proposal for the Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Park project will soon be presented to Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj, Vijay Vishwas Pant. Before work begins, the required No Objection Certificates (NOC) have been obtained from the Horticulture Department and the Prayagraj Development Authority. As part of the initiative, a laser show near the statue of Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad is planned, along with the development of a food court. Additionally, seating arrangements for the laser show and special lighting around the martyr's statue are also proposed. All development work is expected to be completed by the end of this year....
