LUCKNOW, Aug. 8 -- Due to staff shortage, the Ayush department has decided to tie up with the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) department to engage its labs for keeping vigil on manufacturers and sellers of ayurvedic drugs. The situation to look for a partner came up after retirement of the incharge of the testing lab in Lucknow and the need for upgrading labs under the AYUSH. "The FSDA labs are better equipped to detect traces of heavy metal and steroid, if used in drugs, than AYUSH labs. The AYUSH department has two labs while FSDA has 18 labs at division level. "This will make testing easier and in less time also," said the minister.htc...
