Awas Vikas Parishad to launch housing scheme in Hathigahan
PRAYAGRAJ, May 8 -- After a gap of two and a half decades, the Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad is set to construct houses in Prayagraj. The new housing scheme will be developed in Hathigahan, located along the Prayagraj-Lucknow highway. The Parishad has started work on the housing scheme.
State housing commissioner Dr Balkar Singh has approved the scheme. The Prayagraj office of Awas Vikas Parishad had sent a proposal to the state government for the housing scheme planned on 761 acres of land.
After receiving approval from state government, the Parishad officials are set to begin the process of land acquisition from farmers. The housing scheme will offer flats in HIG, MIG, LIG, and EWS categories, along with residential plots, to interested applicants.
Executive engineer of the Parishad Nand Kishore said that apart from flats, plots of different sizes will also be made available as part of the proposed housing scheme. According to the executive engineer, as soon as the gazette is issued by the government, the process of land acquisition from farmers under various sections would commence.
The Awas Vikas Parishad had also planned a housing scheme in Andhawa area of Jhunsi. However, owing to lack of cooperation by farmers of the area in providing land for the project, the same has been stalled.
This housing scheme would be fifth in district constructed by the Awas Vikas Parishad. Earlier, the Parishad had constructed houses in GTB Nagar (Kareli), Jhunsi, Mehendauri besides the Devprayag Housing Scheme in Jhalwa....
