Raj Kumar, principal accountant general, attended the programme as the chief guest. Surendra Kumar, accountant general, was the special guest. The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the principal accountant general. This was followed by floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, symbolising purity, inspiration and moral values. In his speech, the principal accountant general spoke about the rising importance of auditing. He stressed the need to use new technologies and to maintain transparency and timeliness. He said that modern, data-based audit methods improve efficiency and strengthen accountability in government systems. The accountant general also addressed the gathering.
