LUCKNOW, March 24 -- Wrestling has been a glorious tradition in our country, spanning approximately five thousand years. It is not merely a sport, but a magnificent confluence of strength, technique, self-control, and culture, said Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Monday. Singh participated in the Wrestling Gold Cup 2026, an event organised at the KD Singh Babu Stadium on the auspicious occasion of the anniversary of martyrs. Singh said the participation of a total of 45 talented athletes-hailing from various Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, and Punjab, as well as from abroad (specifically Georgia and Iran)-lent a special dignity to this grand competition. Singh announced financial contribution of Rs.5 lakhs, to be provided through CSR funds, to further promote the sport of wrestling.
