Meerut, Oct. 4 -- Days after the brutal murder of a 25-year-old man in Meerut, two videos have surfaced online purportedly showing the assailants in the act. In one of the videos, an assailant can be seen firing three bullets into an unconscious Adil's chest. Both the videos were shot by them. The alleged incident took place in Narheda village under Lohianagar police station. Adil's body was found on the spot on Wednesday, a day after he was last seen by his kin, and sent for post-mortem. Adil lived near Lisadi Gate here and operated a cloth store. Police were yet to confirm the veracity of the videos. Meanwhile, police have registered a case against eight men in connection with the crime. All of the accused were yet to be caught when this report was filed. In the second video, two assailants can be seen escaping on a bike. One of them, identified as Hamza, was said to have masterminded the killing due to personal enmity with Adil. His associate, Julkumar, allegedly executed the shooting in Hamza's presence. Adil's elder brother, Fazil, revealed that on September 30 around 4 pm, some men came to their house and called Adil. He told their mother Farzana that he would return in 10 minutes but never came back. However, Adil had left his phone at home, and when he failed to return that night, the family grew anxious. The family alleged that Hamza and his associates lured Adil away, made him drink alcohol, strangled him, and later shot him dead. In his complaint, Fazil has named eight men from the same locality-Imran, Salman, Nawab, Shavez, Iqbal, Hamza, and Julkumar. SP City Ayush Vikram Singh stated that CCTV footage from the surrounding areas were being examined and the authenticity of the viral videos were being verified.
