Asim Arun for transparency in teachers' appointment
LUCKNOW, July 2 -- Expressing serious concerns over the "Not Found Suitable" (NFS) system prevalent in the appointment process of teachers in higher educational institutions of Uttar Pradesh, state's social welfare minister Asim Arun on Tuesday said the system should be done away with and transparency should be ensured. He expressed these views during his meeting with state's higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay.
Arun said a large number of eligible candidates are declared NFS without any clear reason, due to which talented candidates of reserved categories are getting worried about selection. "At present, many posts of teachers are vacant in the reserved categories in the state, but due to opaque systems like NFS, these posts are not being filled," he added. He also gave three major suggestions to end the NFS system. These include limiting it and with reasons, banning its arbitrary use by issuing a government order. Arun also said that compliance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) should be made mandatory in the selection process. htc...
